THE BYZANTINE HOTEL

is one of the oldest buildings in Crete.

It dates back to the Byzantine period and was believed to be a palace before the Venetian occupation. Today, it has been completely renovated with all the originality and old world charm possible to make you feel totally at home. Located in the centre of the old town in the main square, it is a quick easy walk to the historic sights of Rethymnon. A hundred meters from the hotel is the city park and, in front of it, the parking where, once a week, the free market takes place.

This is a comfortable "A" class hotel, small with 9 complete rooms, all with private bathroom.

All our rooms have been decorated individually to highlight each room special authentic charm. The service (breakfast, bar, information, meetings, phone calls...) is assured in the main building.

Our bar is stocked with everything you might require and is opened all day long from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a charming inside garden.

The owner Nicholas Vrontakis can arrange car rentals, bike rentals, tours through the island and supply information.
